The Executive/Director of Financial Aid is the strategic and operational leader of the department. They are customarily responsible for:
- Maintaining compliance with Title IV Requirements
- Developing policies and procedures
- Implementing new initiatives, including re-engineering and streamlining existing processes
- Optimizing enrollment strategies and awarding philosophies to increase enrollment and retention
- Developing Training and Professional Development Opportunities
- Internal and external audits, reporting and data analysis
The Associate (Assistant) Director of Financial Aid is the managing director of the department. They are customarily responsible for:
- Managing, training and guiding staff on various facets of Financial Aid operations
- Assisting with Financial Aid policy or process development
- Serving on various Financial Aid related operational committees (SAP, Scholarship, Technology, etc.)
- Performing a specific function in the Financial Aid office (Direct Loan or Grant processes, Federal Fund reconciliation, Return to Title IV, SAP, etc.)
- Assist with ongoing development and maintenance of quality control and internal audit procedures
The Financial Aid Advisor (Counselor)(Administrator) is a front-line, customer service-oriented worker. They are customarily responsible for:
- Counseling students and families about the Financial Aid process and available options
- Collecting and reviewing documents and other data necessary to determine eligibility
- Assisting with file review, verification, VA and private loan certifications and awarding
- Resolving conflicting information and preparing files for authorization and disbursement
