Shannon Venezi
Shannon Venezia, Ph.D., FAAC®, is a seasoned higher education professional with deep expertise in federal financial aid compliance, strategic enrollment management, and student-centered operational improvement. She brings a data-informed, equity-driven approach to consulting, grounded in over 16 years of experience interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks. Shannon’s consulting work is underpinned by a proven ability to evaluate institutional processes, align them with policy goals, and improve access and outcomes for students.
Her background includes leadership roles in both public institutional and state agency settings, where she managed large-scale financial aid operations and cross-functional teams. Shannon has hands-on experience with major financial aid and student information systems, including PeopleSoft, Banner, and Colleague, as well as key Department of Education platforms such as COD, NSLDS, and EdConnect. She has successfully led systems integrations, automation initiatives, and compliance audits, and has developed and delivered national trainings on Title IV, enrollment reporting, and audit readiness. In addition to this experience, Dr. Venezia spent time working at the U.S. Department of Education where she assisted schools and expanded her compliance knowledge as an Institutional Review Specialist.
In her personal time, Shannon enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants, as well as spending quality time with her husband and their beloved bulldog, Jilly.
