Olker Alva
Olker Alva has extensive experience in all areas of Student Financial Services, including Director of Financial Aid, Director of Student Accounts, Director of Veteran Services, Central Processing Specialist, and Financial Aid Administrator. In addition to having an MBA and an MSE, he has in-depth knowledge of what it takes for an institution to remain compliant, increase enrollments, and achieve success. Olker’s expertise includes Best Practices, Programmatic Accreditation, State and Federal Aid, Veteran Administration, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Training. In previous institutions, he has been recognized as a critical contributor to student retention and student success.
He developed and implemented a plan to reduce expenditures and improve compliance in Student Financial Services, as well as increase collections and set metrics for the department. Through the implementation of this plan, Olker was able to collect approximately $2,000,000 in past-due balances and to increase student payments by approximately $1,000,000 in 2023. By filling ten positions across multiple departments, he enhanced collaboration and increased the number of new students enrolled at the university. In addition to reporting and auditing at all levels, he is a member of The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. Olker is familiar with CampusNexus, Anthology, Regent, Stars, Ellucian, and PeopleSoft
