Jackie Smith has been working in Financial Aid for over 15 years. She currently has two (2) Bachelor’s Degrees in Healthcare and Business Administration from Columbia Southern University. She started my career at Fayetteville Technical Community College, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina as a Records Clerk and moved my way up to a Default Management Counselor both for the Financial Aid Department and Student Services. She later continues her career and transfer to Fayetteville State University, where She was a Coordinator and overseer, of three (3) Department of Education and North Carolina State programs Financial Aid Specialist/Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)/Consortium and Dual Enrollment. She later moved to Dallas, Texas in 2017 for a position with Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) as a Complainance Specialist and overseer of 7 DCCCD Financial Aid Offices until 2021.
Her specialty in both Banner (9 years) and Datatel/Colleague (6 years) gives her an advantage to helping student/parents in the Financial Aid Program Process.
She enjoys interacting with parents and especially students. Helping with day-to-day higher education needs. Her motto is “it truly takes a village”. She stands by that saying! She is here to help with student/parent financial needs in higher education. She has an open-door policy! You can come and talk to her about your amid-agitating circumstances, our policies, and procedures, etc. Where we will find a situation to the problem. Having a background and knowledge of Student Services and students’ needs gives me an advantage of what the students need and why they need our financial services. She is so excited to be able to join a magnificent group of colleagues at Higher Education Assistance Group. Inc.
