Zena is a nationally respected financial aid leader with over 30 years of experience driving transformation into large, multi-campus higher education systems. She has led financial aid operations supporting more than 15,000 students annually, advancing institutional goals through a strong focus on compliance, access, and service excellence.
Zena started from humble beginnings as a college work-study student and advanced to Executive roles. She has also worked in both proprietary and traditional institutions and served as an independent consultant—supporting institutions in resolving federal audit findings, enhancing policy, and strengthening operational alignment with regulatory standards.
One of her most notable achievements was securing a community partnership grant to address food insecurity among students facing academic challenges. This initiative combined direct support with measurable outcomes, leading to expanded institutional investment in holistic student services.
Zena is recognized for her expertise in institutional compliance, strategic enrollment planning, and data-informed decision-making. Her leadership fosters both student and staff success through innovation, accountability, and equity-focused practices.
