Wes Wilson currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid for Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM) in Athens, Ohio. He has a background in banking, finance, and financial aid spanning 19 years, having previously worked at Western Southern Financial Group, Huntington National Bank, and Ohio Valley University, respectively.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Ohio University. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from Muskingum University.

Wes has held several association positions, including serving two terms as National Chair of the CSFAA (Council of Student Financial Aid Administrators), which runs in part with AACOM (American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine) and on the Discover Student Loans FAA Advisory Board as a Council Member. Additionally, he has served on several conference committees, including AccessLex Conference and AAMC PDC Conferences, and has presented at numerous sessions throughout the years.
Wes has knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft and the College Board’s PowerFAIDS systems. He is also proficient with the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of technology applications, including HRSA, COD, NSLDS, and FAA to CPS Online when administrating Title IV and Title VII Federal student aid. He is knowledgeable in verifications, R2T4, policy and procedures, counseling for students and families, entrance and exit counseling, professional judgment, streamlining processes, and training staff, among others. He especially loves educating students and assisting with student loan repayment strategy planning.
Wes serves as a Deacon at his home congregation in Tampa, FL. He enjoys working out, running, playing and coaching his children’s sports, spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
