LaVon has over 20 years of experience. She started her career as an Admissions Advisor for a small family-owned Health Training Center in Dallas, TX. That is where she found her passion for delivering top tier customer service to students and parents. Her journey to Financial Aid was first introduced to her in 2004 while working in Admissions for a Barber College located in Dallas, TX. She moved her way up throughout the many facets of Financial Aid from Financial Aid Advisor to Director of Financial Aid, both in the private and public sectors. LaVon has experience working in many different systems such as Powerfaids, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar and CampusVue. LaVon is proficient in government systems such as EdConnect, NSLDS, COD, CPS and FAAAccess.
Her priority has always been to train staff and implement operational procedures that support the thorough processing of financial aid for her team members and students.
