With extensive experience in preparing institutions for accreditation, Edith has been instrumental in achieving compliance with various accrediting bodies such as WASC, BPPE, ABHES, and the State Bar of California. In her role as Associate Dean at North-West College and Glendale Career College, she led the schools through BPPE and ABHES accreditation visits. As the Dean of Peoples College of Law, Edith served as the Chief Compliance Officer, implementing a robust compliance plan approved by the California Committee of State Bar Examiners. Edith brings a unique perspective to education, having held a diverse set of leadership roles in higher education, K-12 public and private schools, non-public schools, as well as positions as an adjunct professor teaching undergraduate liberal arts courses and student teaching seminars for the teacher education program. Her diverse experiences have exposed her to multiple leadership models and a wide range of learners. She has worked with incarcerated individuals through the Los Angeles County jail system, Muslim students, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Unified School District, San Francisco School District, numerous charter schools, and private universities. She has engaged with many diverse learners, including special education students and highly gifted students, but her area of expertise is in urban at-risk students. Her experience and practical implementation skills have driven success in various executive roles, making her an asset in coordinating diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives.
Edith is a higher education executive leader who is well-versed in contemporary issues of higher education. Some of her academic achievements include a California Elementary teaching license, a California Administrative Services license, a Juris Doctor degree, an LL.M from Baylor University, and she is currently pursuing an MBA from the Jones Business School at Rice University.
