Darryl is a resolute and dedicated higher education professional whose career includes over 23 years of service in various student financial aid and enrollment management positions at various institutions. In addition to Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Mathematics; Darryl also holds an MBA and Doctorate in Education. He began his career as a student loan default manager and has progressed with positional titles such as associate director, director, executive director, associate vice president and vice president. This includes serving at private, public, not for profit and for profit institutions; with particular expertise at institutions with historically underserved populations.

Darryl’s background includes a high level of knowledge of the administration of various Title IV and institutional student aid programs. This includes competency with operating systems such as Colleague, Peoplesoft, Datatel, and advanced level expertise with Ellucian Banner. He also possesses proficiency in systems such as COD, NSLDS, FAA, SAIG and ELM. Darryl also has extensive knowledge of optimizing operational efficiency and analyzing and modeling business/ process flows. He is well versed in audit and compliance processes, accreditation reaffirmation as well as customer service, staff development and student recruitment and retention.

Darryl has served on various national, regional, and state boards and committees such as NASFAA legislative affairs committee, SASFAA Budget and Finance Committee, DOE minority institution advising task force, and the College Board HBCU advisory committee.

In his spare time Darryl enjoys jazz music, reading, sports and mentoring youth. His daily mantra is ‘Success is a journey, Not a destination’…
